Are you a high-performing sales leader ready to drive meaningful growth in the evolving performance marketing industry? Gen3 Marketing is seeking a dynamic Director, Business Development, to accelerate new business acquisition, with a primary focus on influencer marketing solutions and a strong, integrated emphasis on affiliate-driven revenue.
This role is centered on winning new clients through an influencer-first lens—helping brands unlock growth through creator partnerships, social commerce, and performance-driven storytelling. A deep understanding of affiliate marketing is essential, both as a standalone channel and as a critical performance layer within influencer programs. The ideal candidate can confidently position and sell integrated influencer + affiliate solutions that drive measurable, full-funnel impact.

The Work
  • Lead new client acquisition with a primary focus on influencer marketing solutions 
  • Position and sell integrated influencer + affiliate programs, with a strong emphasis on performance, attribution, and ROI
  • Drive affiliate-led opportunities, including standalone affiliate engagements and influencer-affiliate hybrid programs
  • Sell and develop social commerce programs (e.g., TikTok Shop) that connect creator content directly to conversion
  • Own and execute the full sales cycle—from prospecting through close—delivering consultative, insight-led solutions
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline through a mix of inbound conversion and proactive outbound strategies
  • Translate client goals into integrated influencer + affiliate strategies that align with broader marketing objectives
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless handoff from sale to onboarding and campaign execution
  • Maintain early-stage client relationships (first 12 months) to identify expansion opportunities
  • Represent Gen3 Marketing at industry events, with a focus on thought leadership in influencer, affiliate, and creator commerce
  • Track, manage, and forecast pipeline activity accurately within HubSpot

What You Bring
  • Deep experience selling influencer marketing and affiliate marketing solutions, with a clear understanding of how the channels work independently and together
  • Proven track record of closing net-new business across affiliate, influencer, or performance marketing engagements
  • Strong expertise in affiliate marketing fundamentals, including partner models, commissioning strategies, attribution, and platform ecosystems
  • Experience selling influencer-affiliate hybrid programs (e.g., ShopMy, LTK) and performance-based creator partnerships
  • Experience selling or structuring social commerce and creator-led conversion programs, especially within platforms like TikTok Shop
  • Understanding of brand ambassador / creator community strategies and their role in driving sustained engagement and revenue
  • Experience navigating complex organizations with a consultative, relationship-first sales approach
  • Strong pipeline generation skills across cold outreach, networking, and partner-driven referrals
  • A true hunter mindset, with a passion for building and closing high-value opportunities
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to position influencer and affiliate as complementary growth drivers
  • Familiarity with Sandler, Challenger, or similar sales methodologies is a plus
